Reminder – Submit your abstract to EBC Congress 2026 (deadline 4 February)

Dear colleagues and members of the brewing science community,

This is a friendly reminder that the Call for Abstracts for the EBC Congress 2026 is currently open.

Organised by the European Brewery Convention, the EBC Congress 2026 will take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, from 6 to 9 September 2026, and remains the leading international forum for scientific and technical exchange in brewing and malting.

We warmly encourage researchers, scientists, brewers and technical experts to submit an abstract and contribute to shaping the scientific-technical programme of the Congress.

Why submit?

  • Share your latest research, innovations or applied expertise with an international audience
  • Contribute to a programme built on scientific excellence, integrity and diversity of perspectives
  • Benefit from a blind peer-review process conducted by the EBC Executive Team
  • Present your work either as an oral presentation or a poster

Key dates

  • Call opens: Tuesday, 4 November 2025
  • Submission deadline: Wednesday, 4 February 2026
  • Notification of submitting authors: Between 2 March and 15 March 2026

Abstracts must be submitted exclusively via the online submission platform. Submissions sent by other means cannot be considered.

Topical areas for EBC 2026 include:

  1. Analysis and quality management methodology (raw materials, process, research)
  2. Barley & cereal breeding and agronomy
  3. Beer quality product (colloidal, sensory, foam)
  4. Brewery and maltings management and maintenance, including advances in cleaning and sanitising
  5. Brewing adjuncts & co-products, including upcycling of co-products
  6. Brewing and malting technology (process, product)
  7. Consumer preference studies
  8. Data mining, AI supported decision-making processes in breweries and malting plants
  9. Downstream processing, filtration and stabilisation (including pasteurisation, auxiliary and process aids)
  10. Environmental sustainability relevant to the brewing process, including decarbonisation strategies
  11. Hops and hop products, hop breeding and agronomy
  12. Non-Saccharomyces fermentations, sour beers, kveik, SCOBY, and traditional indigenous beer-like beverage production
  13. Packaging of beer & beverages (bottles, cans, kegs) and dispense technology
  14. Technical Development (novel process, novel product implementation)
  15. Yeast and fermentation (Saccharomyces-based beer production)
